After weeks of hard work by the development team, Odyssey, a preparatory network with the same functions as the main network, was officially launched. It integrates the core functions of the main network: token stake, decentralized predictor quotation function, data source retrieval function, and so on, striving to create a completely real main network environment.

Prep Network Operation Plan

Phase 1: Users can map ARES-ERC20 or ARES-BEP20 assets 1:1 to the prep network via a cross-chain bridge.

Stage 2: The old node running tutorial is invalid and the node running command needs to be updated.

Phase 3: The validator node stakes assets mapped to the prep network. As a nominee, you can stake for the support of the node to earn income. The amount staked and the reward received are completely true, there is no minimum amount of stake. At the same time, it will fully support the quotation function of a decentralized predictor, including data source fetching, real-time quotation, on-chain data request processing, etc.

Phase 4: Ares main network prep network runs smoothly and prepares for the official launch of Ares main network.

Prep Network Role Division

There are 3 roles in the Ares Odyssey Prep Network: Validator, Nominator and Quote Requester.

Validators: These are users who deploy nodes in the Ares Odyssey Prep Network according to the node manual. They are mainly responsible for blocking and quoting smoothly of the prep network. To participate in node deployment, you need to map ARES assets to Odyssey network via ETH or BSC cross-chain bridge and stake a certain amount of ARES on Odyssey network, and successfully run the verifier node will get year-on-year block out and offer rewards. At the same time, if there are problems such as node drops or offer deviations, they also face the risk of being penalized.

Nominator: refers to a user who nominates for any one or more nodes in the Ares Odyssey prep network. Any user holding ARES can become a nominator and use ARES as a nomination asset to make nominations for nodes and receive the corresponding rewards, but also bear the corresponding penalties because the nominated nodes are penalized.

Quote requester: It refers to the user who submits a quote inquiry request in the Ares Odyssey preparation network and pays an advance to get an Ares market quote.

Cross-chain bridge functionality enabled

Ares Odyssey is a real economic system where participants can map 1:1 ARES-ERC20 or ARES-BEP20 assets into Odyssey for staking, nominating or experiencing on-chain data request functionality. The proceeds earned therein will remain in the Odyssey network and can be withdrawn by users via the Odyssey — ETH or Odyssey — BSC cross-chain bridges, mapped 1:1 to ARES-ERC20 or ARES-BEP20 assets.

The token bridging feature of the Ares Odyssey main net prep network was enabled on July 22nd. This allows ARES tokens to seamlessly cross-chain to and from ERC20, BEP20, the Ares Odyssey main net prep network and the main net, allowing for a one-stop experience to more features of the project.

Operation steps

ETH — Odyssey Network Cross-Chain Bridge

1. Connect your wallet and open the stake screen: http://trojan.aresprotocol.io/

2. Click on “Ares Bridge” to open the ARES asset cross-chain bridge from the ETH chain to the Odyssey network.

3. Fill in the asset amount in the Asset Cross-Chain Bridge function interface, the system will automatically identify the ARES balance of your wallet. Fill in the amount you want to migrate to the Odyssey network. Confirm that the “ARES amount to be received on the Odyssey network”, the “cross-chain bridge fee” and your Odyssey account number are accurate. If they are correct, click “Confirm”.

4. The first time you use the cross-chain bridge, you need to approve it first. After completing the authorization, confirm the cross-chain transaction to see the Gas fee and click “Confirm”.

5. Complete the transaction

Your request has been successful, please wait patiently for the assets to be credited. You can open AresScan or polkadot.js to check the balance of the corresponding Odyssey account.

polkadot.js: https://js.aresprotocol.io/?rpc=wss%3A%2F%2Fodyssey.aresprotocol.io#/accounts

⚠️ Cross-chain transactions require some review time and are expected to arrive within 48 hours. If it still hasn’t arrived after 48 hours, please contact Ares Protocol Community Manager or official email address at info@aresprotocol.io. Staff will handle it for you in time.

BSC — Odyssey Network Cross-Chain Bridge

1. Connect your wallet

Open the stake interface: http://iliad.aresprotocol.io/

2. Click on “Ares Bridge”

Open the ARES asset cross-chain bridge from BSC chain to Odyssey network.

3. Fill in the asset amount

The system will automatically recognize the ARES balance of your wallet in the Asset Bridge interface. Fill in the amount you want to migrate on Odyssey network. Confirm that the “Amount of ARES to be received on Odyssey network”, “Cross-chain bridge fee” and your Odyssey account number are accurate. If they are correct, click “Confirm”.

4. Confirm the transaction

Check the Gas fee and click “Confirm”.

5. Complete the transaction

Your request has been successful, please wait patiently for your assets to arrive. You can open AresScan or polkadot.js to check the balance of the corresponding Odyssey account.

AresScan: https://aresscan.aresprotocol.io/odyssey

polkadot.js: https://js.aresprotocol.io/?rpc=wss%3A%2F%2Fodyssey.aresprotocol.io#/accounts

⚠️ Cross-chain transactions require some review time and are expected to arrive within 48 hours. If it still hasn’t arrived after 48 hours, please contact Ares Protocol Community Manager or official email address at info@aresprotocol.io. Staff will handle it for you in time.

The main network reserve network cross-chain bridge function has been opened, we will also release the latest main network reserve network node manual in the next week, stay tuned!

Ares Protocol, the decentralized cross-chain Oracle service in Polkadot ecosystem

Ares Protocol is a decentralized cross-chain oracle platform that introduces a truly new generation of cross-chain oracle service protocols with on-chain data verification and is the first to open a compensation channel for data users in case they suffer business losses due to the use of data provided by the oracle.

Ares Protocol is an oracle solution with security using VRF, developed on the Substrate framework, and it supports hybrid Babe and off-chain workers. It integrates Polkadot’s latest on-chain governance, brings the Optimistic Rollup challenge model into the oracle field, supports the Ink contract ecosystem, and brings better oracle services to DeFi Developers.
