Ares Protocol will go live on the mainnet on October 3
Dear Aresians, we have good news to announce: the Ares technical team has completed the development of the mainnet for Ares Protocol. After multiple rounds of testing with Gladios and smoothly running the 1:1 real environment prep network Odyssey, the Ares Protocol mainnet has been deployed.
The team finalized that the mainnet of Ares Protocol will be online at 69 Era with a block height of approximately 990766 (22:00 Singapore time on October 3, 2022), and the block-out bonus will be turned on at the same time.

On July 21, Odyssey, a reserve network with precisely the same functions as the mainnet 1:1, was officially opened. It integrated the core functions of the mainnet: token staking, decentralized prophecy machine quoting function, data source retrieval function, etc., aiming to create a completely realistic mainnet environment.
After two months, the prep network Odyssey successfully completed its mission. The Odyssey test officially ended in the early hours of September 28, 2022, Singapore time, after 70 days of operation and over 900,000 cumulative blocks.
During the campaign, the Ares community responded positively with a steady annualized rate of around 200% of successful rewards according to the guidelines, with an average of 70,000–80,000 ARES rewards issued per day. The Ares Prophecy Machine is developed based on the substrate framework of Polkadot Ecosystem, mainly including ares-oracle, oracle-finance, staking-extend, and three main modules (pallet), which are responsible for “offer integration,” “verifier reward distribution,” and The three primary functions are “verifier reward allocation” and “new validator compliance review.”
Ares-oracle integrates free quotes and paid quotes.
The validator initiates the data request under the chain, and after successfully obtaining the price, it is collected into the quote data pool. The average price aggregation mechanism is triggered when the data reaches the maximum depth (default DP). The median price in the quote pool is derived, and abnormal data is eliminated. At the same time, when the validator quotes the same price consecutively will jump the quoting right of that price to the next validator, increasing the fairness.
When you need to get a price as soon as possible or customize it, you can choose to pay for a quote. After the user has successfully reserved a deduction, the off-chain workers of all validators will receive the task synchronously, collect data from their respective data sources, upload it to the chain, and deduct the money from the user’s account after completing the quote.
Staking extends verifier compliance checks. Ares-oracle works with the candidate list interface provided by the staking-extends module (pallet) to check whether the user’s data source is working properly.
If the check passes, the ares-oracle will send a pass signal to the staking-extends module, and the validator can participate smoothly in the subsequent election process. Otherwise, it must wait until the next election cycle for the following review.

Gladios Test Network
The first test version of the Ares Protocol project. This network is used to test and optimize the project’s products and technologies and to prepare the ground for implementing the mainnet Ares Odyssey. There are three rounds of testing, systematically testing node block out, quote, on-chain data request function, replacing from aura consensus to babe consensus, adding quote verification and penalty mechanism.

To ensure a smooth transition to the mainnet, we will not approve new verifier access until the mainnet goes live. The technical team will open the Ares Protocol mainnet at 22:00 Singapore time on October 3, 2022, when we will open the Ares Protocol Odyssey mainnet to everyone!
